Description

Product Introduction

HTM-H056A01-HI-A01 is a high-reliability 5.6-inch HMI LCD Display designed for industrial automation, intelligent equipment, and various control terminals. This product adopts transmissive normally white TFT LCD technology, features 640(RGB) x 480 DOTS resolution, delivers a luminance of 200 cd/m², and offers viewing angles of 50° upward, 70° downward, 70° left, and 70° right.

At the hardware level, this HMI LCD Display module natively integrates an HI 1.4 HD receiver and is fully compliant with the HDCP 1.4 content protection protocol. This means developers can directly attach the display to various embedded host control systems without writing low-level drivers, dramatically shortening product R&D and production cycles. The operating voltage supports a wide DC 9–12V/1A input. The HMI LCD Display module features a precision mechanical design, with PCB dimensions of 163.50mm x 102.00mm, an active TFT display area of 112.90mm x 84.67mm, a maximum thickness controlled within 13.50mm, and four mounting holes of 3.3mm diameter.

In addition, it boasts strong environmental adaptability, with a TFT operating temperature range of -10℃ to +60℃ and a storage temperature range of -30℃ to 80℃, ensuring stable operation across diverse industrial display scenarios.

Core Engineering Highlights

  • Plug-and-Play HI Interface Architecture: Relying on the onboard HI 1.4 protocol conversion bridge chip and HDCP 1.4 decryption functionality, this HMI LCD Display eliminates the need for developers to tune tedious low-level driver parameters such as RGB, LVDS, or MIPI DSI interface clocks and blanking intervals. It is recognized as a standard plug-and-play display device under embedded Linux, Windows, Android, or RTOS systems, enabling truly seamless integration.
  • Asymmetric Optical Viewing Optimization: Targeted at the typical line-of-sight trajectories of industrial operators, the panel has undergone engineering adjustment for asymmetric optical viewing angles. The specific viewing angle parameters are: 50° upward, 70° downward, 70° left, and 70° right. When the HMI LCD Display module is installed in a tilted control console, sloped operator panel, or mid-rack position below the operator’s natural line of sight, this optical configuration ensures excellent contrast ratio and color fidelity, preventing misinterpretation.

Typical Application Scenarios

Benefiting from excellent industrial wide-temperature characteristics and low-threshold plug-and-play development advantages, this HMI LCD Display is widely deployed in the following key industrial and commercial technology sectors:

  • Industrial Control Consoles and Distributed SCADA System Terminals: Extensively used on various factory automation assembly lines and central control room operator terminals. Its HI interface can directly adapt to industrial PCs (IPC) or industrial single-board computers mounted on DIN rails.
  • Medical Instruments and Vital Signs Monitor Interfaces: With a stable luminance of 200 cd/m² and 640×480 image clarity, it can continuously display patient waveform data, laboratory equipment text parameters, and various touch status indicators on medical software for extended periods without interruption.
  • High-End Laboratory Precision Analytical Instruments: Suitable for display fronts of gas chromatographs, digital oscilloscopes, automated chemical analyzers, and similar instruments, perfectly rendering complex telemetry data charts and parameter adjustment menus.

Technical Q&A

Q1: If my host device outputs a video resolution higher than the screen’s native 640×480, how does the module handle scaling?

A1: This HMI LCD Display module incorporates an advanced hardware scaling engine within the onboard video decoder controller and includes EDID handshake protocol compliant with VESA standards. When the host (such as a Raspberry Pi or industrial motherboard) outputs 720p (1280×720) or 1080p (1920×1080) signals, the HMI LCD Display module automatically recognizes them and hardware downscales them to the native 640(RGB) x 480 DOTS space for physical presentation. However, to achieve optimal pixel-to-pixel mapping, perfect character sharpness, and to avoid aliasing and blurring of small fonts caused by scaling algorithms, it is strongly recommended to lock the output resolution directly to 640×480 @ 60Hz in the host operating system’s graphics settings.

Q2: Can this display module be powered directly via a 5V USB port from a single-board computer?

A2: Absolutely not. The internal LCD bias network, multi-level logic chipset, and high-efficiency LED backlight constant-current drive circuit of this module are all architected around a DC 9V to 12V input voltage rail. Connecting a 5V supply directly will trigger the onboard under-voltage lockout (UVLO) protection, causing the system to fail to start, resulting in a black screen, or leading the backlight chip to overheat and self-protect due to unstable low-voltage high-current conditions. Therefore, during wiring, you must supply an independent, regulated DC power source of 9V-12V with a rated output current of no less than 1A through the DC-005 connector, ensuring sufficient power margin for the backlight at full luminance (200 cd/m²) and during transient startup.
